Home Depot showed off a refreshed Husky storage and worklight lineup at its Unmatched creator event in Atlanta earlier this month, and the new product drops include a $498 matte-white 52-inch rolling tool box, two rechargeable LED flip flashlights, and a weatherproof version of the popular mini clear tote. ToolGuyd published a recap of the event on June 22, with first looks at SKUs and pricing.
The flagship reveal is the Husky H52MWC10MWHTRD 10-Drawer Mobile Workbench Cabinet. At 52 inches wide with a solid wood top, matte white finish, and red-accented casters and lock face, the new cabinet lands at $498 plus delivery and is described as “rolling out soon” across Home Depot. Handle pulls use a “dipped” carbon-fiber-style finish rather than real carbon fiber, a small detail that keeps the price under $500 where comparable 48 to 56-inch rolling cabinets from competing brands often run $700 to $1,500.
New Husky Rechargeable Flip Flashlights
Husky also rolled out two rechargeable LED inspection flip flashlights designed around a double-knuckle pivoting head, magnetic base, secondary tip light, and multiple output modes:
- Husky 800-Lumen Rechargeable LED Inspection Flip Flashlight (PVL-WLT-0007, product #337980233). The compact model in the new lineup.
- Husky 1200-Lumen Rechargeable LED Inspection Flip Flashlight with UV (PVL-WLT-0006, product #337980229). Larger model with UV mode and additional features.
Both lights use the same pivoting, magnetized body that has been a Husky signature for several years. Adding a UV mode to the 1200-lumen model is a useful new feature for HVAC leak detection, automotive dye tracing, and counterfeit-currency checks on the jobsite.
Army Green Storage and a Weatherproof Mini Tote
Beyond the new SKUs, Home Depot previewed two cosmetic additions to the existing Husky storage line. Several existing Husky storage products are now shipping in an army-green color option, and the mini clear tote container (popular for organizing small parts) is getting a weatherproof upgrade that addresses long-standing complaints about dust and moisture intrusion. No model numbers or release dates were given for either at the event, but the SKUs typically show up on homedepot.com within a few weeks of an Unmatched reveal.
Behind the Scenes: Husky’s Quality Test Lab
The more interesting takeaway from the event is structural: Home Depot confirmed the existence of an in-house quality test lab for Husky tools that has been quietly running for years. Most Husky buyers assume the brand is just a label on imported product, and for some lower-priced commodity items that is true. The lab handles testing on higher-end SKUs (storage, flashlights, and a growing share of hand tools) before they ship. That kind of vertical investment from a big-box retailer is unusual and matters for anyone who has dismissed Husky as a budget-tier option.
What This Means for Buyers
If you have been holding off on a Husky 52-inch rolling cabinet because the previous all-black SKUs looked identical to the cheaper lines, the new white-and-red H52MWC10MWHTRD is a clear visual step up at a competitive price point. For tradespeople who already use Husky flashlights, the 1200-lumen UV model is worth a look. Army-green storage and the weatherproof tote are incremental changes, but they suggest Home Depot is treating Husky as a real growth brand rather than a side label.
