Makita is filling out the MakTrak lineup with two drawer tool boxes, and presale listings just went up at online retailers. A 2-drawer model (T-90102) is listed at $249 and a 3-drawer (T-90118) at $279.

Both stack with Makita’s interlocking MakTrak base and the rest of the system.

They follow the rolling boxes that hit the USA last year.

ModelDrawersListed PriceRated Capacity
T-901022$24950 lb
T-901183$27950 lb

Listings mention a 50 lb load capacity and a padlock loop on both boxes.

Beyond that, the spec sheets are thin, so treat the details as preliminary until Makita publishes full specs.

How the Pricing Stacks Up

Milwaukee casts a long shadow here. The PACKOUT 2-drawer tool box is $179 at Home Depot right now.

The PACKOUT 3-drawer is $199.

That puts Makita’s drawer boxes at $70 to $80 more than the direct competitive equivalents.

It tracks with how MakTrak has been priced since launch: engineered well, priced above the pack.

Makita’s first MakTrak wave landed in the USA in late 2024, and the system has grown slowly since. A second wave of compact boxes started arriving this fall, including new rolling tool boxes and open-top crates in shallow and deep sizes.

Drawer boxes are the piece the USA lineup has been missing. They are also the storage style many trades gravitate to for small parts, fasteners, and hand tools that do not belong in an open bin.

One Design Choice Stands Out

Photos of the production boxes show a clean exterior with no external accessory rails.

Most modern pro-grade modular systems now hang cups, organizers, or mounts off the box sides, and PACKOUT in particular has built a huge attachment catalog on that idea.

Makita skipping the rails keeps the boxes low-profile and cheap to make, but it also means fewer ways to expand later.

If you stack your system deep rather than wide, that trade makes sense.

Presale pages are live at several online retailers, so expect a ship date announcement soon. When we get confirmed availability and full specs, we will update this post.
