Terms of Use

Last updated: June 2026.

Welcome to Power Tools Insider. These terms cover your use of powertoolsinsider.com. Short version: we publish research and buying guides, you read them for free, and a few common-sense rules apply. If you use the site, you’re agreeing to what’s below.

1. Using This Site

Power Tools Insider is a free publication for people researching power tools, outdoor power equipment, and garage gear. You can read, link to, and share our articles. In return, don’t scrape the site at abusive rates, republish our content wholesale, interfere with the site’s operation, or use it for anything illegal.

We may change, pull, or update any page at any time without notice. We can also update these terms; the date above tells you when we last did.

2. What We Are (and Are Not)

We’re a research publication, not a contractor, electrician, or safety inspector. Nothing here is professional advice. Tool recommendations, torque values, sizing charts, and how-to context are general reference information. Your project, your local code, and your equipment manual always come first. If a job involves structural work, gas, or mains wiring, hire a licensed pro.

Power tools can hurt you. Read the manufacturer’s manual, wear the right protection, and don’t rely on any third-party site (including ours) as your only source for safety-critical numbers.

3. How We Make Money (Affiliate Disclosure)

We earn commissions from qualifying purchases made through links on this site, mostly through the Amazon Associates program. That’s the business model and we’re upfront about it: the full details live on our [Affiliate Disclosure](/affiliate-disclosure/) page.

Two things commissions never buy: rankings and reviews. No manufacturer pays for placement, sends us free gear in exchange for coverage, or sees an article before you do. Where a brand sells only through one retailer (Milwaukee at Home Depot, for example), we link there even when no commission exists for us.

4. Accuracy, Prices, and Honest Limits

Our method is spec verification, not hands-on lab testing. We verify manufacturer specifications, track prices through retailer data feeds, and aggregate large volumes of verified-buyer reviews. The full methodology is on our [How We Review](/how-we-review/) page.

That method has limits and we’d rather say so than pretend otherwise:

  • Prices and availability change constantly. A price on our pages was
  • Manufacturers revise specs, discontinue models, and issue recalls. We
  • When we can’t verify a number, we say “check manufacturer specs” instead

Everything on this site is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Use your own judgment before buying anything or torquing anything.

5. Our Content

The articles, charts, diagrams, and original images on this site belong to Power Tools Insider and are protected by copyright. Quote us with a link and we’re happy. Republishing full articles, charts, or image sets without permission isn’t allowed. Product photos and trademarks belong to their manufacturers and retailers; we use them to identify the products we cover.

6. Third-Party Links

We link out to retailers, manufacturers, and other sites. Once you leave powertoolsinsider.com, their terms and privacy practices apply, not ours. We don’t control their content, pricing, stock, or checkout experience.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Power Tools Insider and its operators aren’t liable for any damages arising from your use of this site or from products you buy through it. That includes direct, indirect, incidental, and consequential damages: a busted project, a returned tool, a missed deal, or worse. Our total liability for any claim related to the site won’t exceed one hundred dollars (USD $100). Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You agree to hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the site or violation of these terms.

8. Contact

Questions about these terms? Use the [contact page](/contact/) and we’ll get back to you.
