Home Depot 4th of July Tool Sale 2026: Dates, What to Buy

Home Depot’s annual 4th of July Savings event runs June 20 through July 4, 2026 in-store and online. It overlaps the last few days of the Father’s Day sale and lands right between Amazon Prime Day and the start of summer project season. If you held off buying a major combo kit or outdoor tool during the spring promos, this is the next window to watch.

Home Depot hasn’t published full pricing yet, but the landing page is live with the standard 4th of July categories: power tools, outdoor power equipment, storage, hand tools, and accessories. Last year’s event stacked up to 40% off select Milwaukee and DeWalt combo kits plus free tool offers on Ryobi starter kits. We expect a similar structure this year, with brand-specific promos from Milwaukee, DeWalt, Ryobi, RIDGID, and Kobalt.

What to Watch For

  • Milwaukee M18 FUEL combo kits: The 6-tool kit dropped to $499 at Home Depot during the Father’s Day sale (was $999). A repeat at 4th of July is likely.
  • DeWalt 20V MAX drill/impact driver bundles: The $99 drill kit and $99 oscillating multi-tool kit were among the deepest Father’s Day cuts. Watch for matching discounts.
  • Ryobi 40V outdoor power: Self-propelled mowers, string trimmers, and chainsaws typically hit 25-30% off during July 4th. Free battery bundles are common.
  • RIDGID 18V brushless tools: The NUKE subcompact platform launches at Home Depot in July 2026, so expect introductory pricing on the drill, impact driver, and 4-1/2″ circular saw during the event.
  • Free tool promos: Home Depot usually layers a “free bare tool with kit purchase” promo on top of percentage discounts. The 4th of July often features free batteries with Milwaukee and Ryobi.

Why This Matters

Three things converge in this window. First, the August Section 301 tariff price hike on Stanley Black & Decker products (DeWalt, Craftsman, BLACK+DECKER) is now weeks away, so July 4 is the last realistic chance to buy those brands at pre-tariff pricing. Second, RIDGID’s NUKE launch on July 1 means Home Depot will be pushing the new subcompact line with aggressive pricing. Third, any unsold Father’s Day inventory from Milwaukee and DeWalt typically gets marked down further rather than returned to MSRP.

The tariff story matters most. Q1 2026 earnings from Stanley Black & Decker warned that Section 301 tariffs return in August, and tools made in China will see 10-25% price increases depending on category. A $99 DeWalt drill kit in early July could easily be $119-$129 by Labor Day.

How to Shop the Sale

The 4th of July sale page on Home Depot’s site (linked below) shows categories but not specific deals until the event goes live June 20. Add it to your calendar now. If you want any Milwaukee M18 or M12 kit, set a price alert on the specific SKU a week early so you can compare against the Father’s Day prices and pull the trigger on June 20 if matching or better. If you don’t need it by July 4, wait for the final 48 hours when Home Depot often drops clearance tiers on slow-moving SKUs.

For the RIDGID NUKE launch, the subcompact drill kit lists at $139 with a 2.0Ah battery. The drill/impact combo kit is $219. The 4-1/2″ circular saw (which actually cuts a 2×4 in one pass) is $149 bare. If Home Depot stacks a launch promo on top of the 4th of July event, the drill kit could land in the $99-$119 range, which would be the entry-level value buy of the summer.

More 4th of July Shopping Tips

Home Depot is the only major retailer that runs a full 4th of July tool sale. Lowe’s shifted its July promotion to “Craftsman Days” (running through July 29 with the $99 battery kit + free tool deal covered in our Craftsman post). Amazon’s Prime Day overlaps June 16-17 and is the better window for DeWalt, Makita, and Bosch deals. If you can wait on Milwaukee or Ryobi, the 4th of July is the right event. If you need a DeWalt, Prime Day is.

Stack your discounts where possible. Home Depot’s Pro Xtra loyalty program gives an extra 2% off for members and early access to certain doorbusters. The Home Depot consumer credit card adds 0% financing for purchases over $299, which matters if you’re buying a major kit or tool storage.
