Built on two 22V Nuron batteries, the DSH 900-22 is Hilti’s 14-inch cordless cut-off saw. It’s available now at Home Depot for $1,595, and for contractors running interior demolition where gas fumes are a real problem, the no-exhaust tradeoff makes the whole argument.
What It Does
At 3,900 RPM and 6 inches of cutting depth, this 14-inch blade covers the same material capacity as a comparable gas saw. At 90cc gas equivalence, power output lines up with cut-off saws in that engine class.
Active Torque Control (ATC) braking stops the blade in under one second when kickback is detected. Normal trigger-release braking stops the blade in under four seconds. Most gas cut-off saws take 5 to 10 seconds to spin down after release, so the ATC difference is real for interior work near finished surfaces.
Two 22V Nuron batteries run simultaneously to power the saw. That removes fuel handling and engine maintenance from the equation, but it means you need two charged packs before the job starts, which adds to ownership cost relative to a gas saw.
Where Cordless Beats Gas
Already in Hilti’s lineup is the DSH 900X, a gas cut-off saw running a 90cc two-stroke engine. The cordless DSH 900-22 matches its cutting specs while removing exhaust, pull-start maintenance, and fuel from the picture.
Interior work is where it matters most: cutting expansion joints in basement slabs, pipe work inside occupied buildings, or any demolition in confined spaces where gas exhaust builds up. Fans and ventilation help but never fully solve the fume problem with a gas saw indoors.
No other major cordless brand currently makes a 14-inch battery-powered cut-off saw for construction use. Milwaukee, DeWalt, and Makita all stop at smaller blade sizes in their cordless lineups, which leaves Hilti alone in this segment for now.

Pricing and Where to Buy
At Home Depot, the bare tool runs $1,595. Direct from Hilti, it’s $1,746. A fleet management option is available at $55.75 per month, which makes the tool accessible without a large capital outlay.
Batteries are not included. Two 22V Nuron packs plus a charger add to the total cost, worth factoring into any comparison against a $500 to $700 gas cut-off saw with a fuel budget. That calculus shifts the more you value zero maintenance and indoor-safe operation.
Hilti’s Broader Cordless Push in 2026
This saw is part of a larger expansion of Hilti’s Nuron cordless platform. Earlier this year, Hilti launched their first-ever cordless table saw and 20 additional Nuron tools, covering categories from rotary hammers to vacuums. The 14-inch cut-off saw rounds out the heavy demolition side of that lineup.
For contractors evaluating the broader trend toward larger cordless saws, our circular saw roundup covers the 7-1/4-inch class, and Milwaukee’s new 10-1/4″ M18 FUEL rear handle saw is now shipping as another comparison in the heavy-cut segment.
On its own merits, the DSH 900-22 is the only cordless saw in this size class that a contractor can actually take into a basement or finished building without worrying about ventilation. That’s a narrow but genuine use case, and for crews who work in those conditions daily, $1,595 is competitive with what a comparable gas saw plus ongoing fuel costs adds up to over a season.
