DeWalt has expanded its 20V MAX platform into a category most cordless tool users didn’t see coming: an evaporative air cooler. The DXACN01B is available now at Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Amazon, powered by the same 20V MAX batteries already in your kit.

How It Works
This is an evaporative cooler, not a compressor-based AC unit — that distinction matters for realistic expectations. Fill the reservoir with ice or freeze the included water packs overnight. The fan pulls air through the chilled zone and pushes it out cooler than ambient. The digital display shows the actual outlet temperature so you can see what you’re getting.
Three fan speeds let you dial between airflow and battery runtime. On low, a 20V MAX 6Ah battery should carry you through a half-day of continuous use. High speed draws more but moves meaningfully more air.
What DeWalt Is Competing With
Battery-powered jobsite coolers aren’t new — Ryobi has a 18V ONE+ evaporative cooler, and Milwaukee makes an M18-powered ice chest. The DXACN01B’s advantages over those are the 32-quart capacity (larger than most competition), the USB-C port for device charging, and the digital temperature readout. The disadvantage is the same one all evaporative coolers share: in high-humidity environments, the cooling effect drops off significantly. These work best in hot-dry conditions.
Who It’s For
If you’re already in the 20V MAX ecosystem, this makes sense as a platform accessory — same logic as Milwaukee’s M18 fans and heated jackets. One more battery to pull from, no new charger to source. For someone not already running DeWalt batteries, the per-unit economics get harder to justify.
One thing worth noting: DeWalt’s parent Stanley Black & Decker has confirmed an August 2026 price increase on most power tools and accessories due to Section 301 tariffs. The cooler may be subject to the same pricing adjustment. Worth buying before August if this is on your list.
