Update [June 1, 2026]: The Bosch Expert EXCM341-305GD has now officially debuted at Lowe’s. Bosch has confirmed the full model number as EXCM341-305GD and the weight reduction is verified at 10 lbs (55 lbs versus 65 lbs on the GCM12SD). Pricing is confirmed at $449-$499. The Shadow Line cut guide technology, which projects a crisp shadow rather than a laser beam, is effective in direct sunlight where traditional green or red lasers wash out entirely, a genuine field advantage for framing crews. The saw is available at Lowe’s now. Original coverage below.

Bosch is replacing its iconic GCM12SD with the new Expert EXCM341-305GD, a lighter, smarter 12-inch gliding miter saw that will launch exclusively at Lowe’s in June 2026. If you’ve been holding off on a GCM12SD purchase, now you know why.

The GCM12SD has been a go-to for finish carpenters and serious DIYers for years, built on Bosch’s patented Axial-Glide system that requires zero clearance behind the saw. The Expert EXCM341-305GD keeps that advantage and adds several meaningful upgrades.

What’s New on the EXCM341-305GD

  • Shadow Line cut guide: Projects a crisp shadow line instead of a laser, so it works in direct sunlight where traditional lasers wash out completely
  • Compact Glide System: Same zero-rear-clearance design as the original. The saw slides forward rather than pivoting back, so it fits against any wall
  • 10 pounds lighter: 55 lbs versus 65 lbs on the GCM12SD, a real difference when you’re transporting the saw to a job
  • Rear bevel controls: Bevel adjustment lever moved to the rear of the saw for easier single-handed access during setup
  • Updated finish: New black anodized aluminum surfaces replace the silver of the older model
  • 341mm crosscut capacity: Handles wide crown molding nested flat, with the same cut capacity as the model it replaces

Blade size stays at 12 inches with a 15-amp motor and dual-bevel capability. No cordless version has been announced. This is a corded saw targeting professional woodworkers and serious DIYers who want the best sliding miter saw available at a reasonable price point.

Price and Availability

The EXCM341-305GD is now available at Lowe’s at $449-$499. The Lowe’s exclusive launch is live as of June 2026. The outgoing GCM12SD previously retailed in the same range, so Bosch held pricing steady while delivering the weight reduction and Shadow Line upgrade.

How It Stacks Up

The GCM12SD’s main competition has always been the DeWalt DWS779 and DWS780, both of which are available on Amazon. DeWalt wins on price and availability. The Bosch wins on footprint. The Expert’s Shadow Line and reduced weight sharpen Bosch’s case for woodworkers who run tight shop setups and need reliable cut lines under task lighting.
