FLEX quietly dropped the FX1372A last week, and it’s the first 24V impact driver in its lineup with a one-touch collet. One-handed bit swaps, no wiggling the chuck. That’s the headline feature, but the torque numbers and included kit make it worth a closer look for anyone shopping the $299 range.

What the FX1372A Brings to the Table

The FX1372A-2C kit packs the bare driver, two 5.0Ah batteries, and a 160W fast charger. At 2,500 in-lbs of max torque, it sits above most compact 18-20V drivers from DeWalt and Milwaukee in raw output. The kit price at launch is $299 on Amazon.

  • Max torque: 2,500 in-lbs
  • Collet: one-touch, single-handed bit loading and release
  • LED: 360-degree ring, 5 brightness settings
  • Modes: variable speed trigger + dual self-tapping modes (auto-adjusts for metal brackets and mixed substrates)
  • Batteries: 2x 5.0Ah, 24V platform
  • Charger: 160W fast charger included
  • Warranty: 5-year limited (register within 30 days), 3-year unregistered

How It Compares

A Milwaukee M18 FUEL 2-battery kit runs $299 to $349 depending on battery capacity. DeWalt’s 20V MAX XR kits sit in the same range. FLEX undercuts neither on price here, but the one-touch collet is a genuine differentiator — most drivers in this bracket still use a quick-release that requires two hands or a firm grip to eject bits cleanly. The self-tapping modes are also a step ahead of the single-mode designs that ship in most mid-range kits.

The 24V platform is proprietary to FLEX, so this is a buy-in decision if you’re starting fresh. If you’re already running FLEX batteries, the FX1372A fits the existing chargers and packs you have.

Where FLEX Fits Now

FLEX moved its US distribution to Amazon exclusively after pulling out of Lowe’s last year. That’s actually a plus for deal hunters: Amazon pricing is transparent, deals show up fast, and the Prime shipping beats waiting for a Lowe’s stock replenishment. The downside is no in-store try-before-you-buy. For a brand with a strong warranty and a growing product line, the tradeoff is reasonable.

The FX1372A-2C kit is available now on Amazon at $299.
