Milwaukee’s Packout modular storage system is getting its biggest crate expansion yet: five new products scheduled for summer 2026, including a purpose-built wire spool crate that’s been on electricians’ wish lists for years.

Here’s what’s coming in June 2026:

Low-Profile Crate (48-22-8438)

Shorter than the existing standard crate, with quick-adjust dividers for customized organization. 50-lb weight capacity. Designed for smaller components you want accessible from the top without reaching deep into a taller box.

Compact Crate (48-22-8437)

Wide front opening for grab-and-go access, with a metal-reinforced handle. 30-lb capacity. Ships with two customizable dividers included.

Wire-Pulling XL Crate (48-22-8043)

The standout of the batch. This crate holds up to six 500-foot wire spools in dedicated retention slots, keeping them organized, tangle-free, and mobile. If you’re running structured wiring jobs or pulling rough-in electrical, this solves a real organization problem. No equivalent purpose-built product exists in any other modular storage system.

XL Crate (48-22-8439)

Standard large-format open crate. 75-lb capacity. Same stackable, latchable design as all existing Packout products.

XL Crate Divider (48-22-8038)

An add-on accessory that splits the XL Crate into two compartments, with tool attachment mounting points on the divider itself.

All five products are compatible with the full Packout ecosystem, tool boxes, rolling toolboxes, totes, and the Packout truck bed system. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet. Milwaukee says more details are coming closer to the June launch.

Context: Milwaukee’s Big 2026 Push

Milwaukee isn’t coasting. Earlier this month, the brand launched next-gen M12 FUEL ratchets and had a $205.8M campus expansion approved, signaling aggressive investment in both tools and infrastructure. These Packout additions fit the same pattern: extending an already-dominant system deeper into specialized trade use cases.

Packout currently has over 150 compatible products, and Milwaukee keeps adding. For a full comparison of modular storage options across brands, see our best tool storage systems guide.

Expect all five crates at Home Depot in June 2026.
