Home Depot’s limited edition holiday tool sweater went live this morning at 11am ET, and by 11:01 the entire size run was gone. Catching it meant knowing the hook: the $29.99 sweater ships with about $119 in real tools stacked in its apron-style pockets, plus a $50 peppermint-scented Home Depot gift card. Home Depot claimed the bundle is worth more than $150, and honestly, the gift card alone covers the price.
This is not the knit “How I Do It” tool sweater Home Depot has sold in past years. The 2026 edition is a limited drop sold through a separate pop-up shop, sized XS to XXL, with built-in pockets designed to hold the tools it comes with. A second drop is scheduled for October 15.
What Comes in the Bundle
- Husky 6-in-1 screwdriver, $8
- Husky 25 ft. tape measure, $10
- Husky 8 in. slip joint pliers, $14
- Husky dual power LED rechargeable headlamp, $39
- DeWalt 9 in. torpedo level, $23
- Command clear outdoor light clips, $10
- Milwaukee mechanical pencil with a 10-pack of lead, $15
- $50 Home Depot peppermint-scented gift card
Those are the listed prices per ToolGuyd, which first flagged the bundle. The headlamp is the one worth noting. Husky’s rechargeable wide-angle light normally runs $39 on its own, so the sweater is essentially free after the gift card, the headlamp, and a bag of light clips.
Why It Sold Out in a Minute
Bots and resellers probably ate a chunk of the inventory. Commenters on ToolGuyd reported the pop-up page opened early, around 10:59am, and some shoppers hit a sold-out banner before the official 11am start. Others called the whole thing a hype stunt. Either way, this is Home Depot borrowing the sneaker-drop playbook for a sweater bundle, and it worked.
The real question is whether the October 15 restock holds up any better. If you want one, create a Home Depot account and have your payment saved before the drop. If you miss it, the resale listings will start within the hour, and no sweater is worth scalper prices.
What This Means for Holiday Shoppers
Home Depot is clearly testing limited-drop novelty bundles ahead of Black Friday, and the tool count here beats anything in their regular holiday promo stack. If the format sticks, expect more tool-stuffed gift bundles through November.
