DeWalt’s Atomic and ToughSeries Hand Tools Are Now at Lowe’s — Here’s What It Means

If you’ve been a Lowe’s loyalist reluctant to drive to Home Depot for DeWalt hand tools, that trip just got optional. As of April 14, 2026, Lowe’s website is listing DeWalt Atomic and ToughSeries hand tools — products that have long been tied to Home Depot’s shelves.

This is a quiet but meaningful retail shift worth understanding before your next tool run.

What’s Now at Lowe’s

The expansion covers DeWalt’s hand tool lineup, not power tools. Products now appearing on Lowe’s website include:

  • DeWalt Atomic Compact Series tape measures — 25 ft. and 30 ft. models
  • DeWalt ToughSeries tape measures — including the 35 ft. model
  • ToughSeries accessories — including the Construction Jack Extension, which pairs with the ToughSeries Construction Jack to lift up to 27 inches
  • Additional Atomic and ToughSeries hand tool SKUs

It’s currently an online-only situation at Lowe’s — no confirmed word on whether these will make it to store shelves. But the availability is real, and it covers a meaningful chunk of the Atomic and ToughSeries lineup.

Why This Matters

For years, Stanley Black & Decker ran a clean retail split: Craftsman, Irwin, and Lenox at Lowe’s; DeWalt at Home Depot. That’s why DeWalt Atomic hand tools weren’t on Lowe’s.com — not because they were officially “exclusive,” but because of an informal channel arrangement.

That line is now blurring, at least on the hand tool side.

For power tools, DeWalt has always sold broadly — Amazon, Home Depot, Lowe’s, and independent dealers all carry DeWalt drills, saws, and combo kits. This change is specifically about hand tools, which is where the retail separation was most visible. If you already have a Lowe’s account through your employer, or you’re building a mixed-brand toolkit at one store, this helps.

What It Doesn’t Change for Power Tools

Our battery platform comparison and DeWalt vs. Makita head-to-head still hold. For cordless drills, impact drivers, and saws, DeWalt power tools remain available at Amazon, Home Depot, and select Lowe’s locations — this isn’t a change to that structure. It’s hand tools that crossed over.

If you’re shopping for a new cordless drill, Amazon and Home Depot remain your best bets for DeWalt power tool inventory and pricing. But if you’re building out a hand tool kit — tape measures, squares, levels — Lowe’s is now a legitimate option for the same DeWalt Atomic and ToughSeries gear.

The Bigger Picture

Retail exclusivity in tools is loosening industry-wide. Milwaukee remains a Home Depot exclusive for power tools, and Kobalt stays Lowe’s-only. But DeWalt, Makita, Bosch, and other brands with broader distribution have been making their hand tools available wherever foot traffic is. This move continues that trend.

For tool buyers, more options at more retailers generally means better prices and more convenient shopping. Watch for this to expand to in-store availability at Lowe’s locations through the rest of 2026.
