It’s now available through tool dealers as part of a broader push to fill the gap between compact cordless tools and pneumatic specialty equipment.
What Makes the DCG420XB Different
The “extended” in the name refers to the neck geometry. The DCG420XB’s neck is 35% slimmer than comparable pneumatic die grinders, letting it reach into engine bores, valve ports, tight weld seams, and HVAC fittings that a standard die grinder body can’t access. Variable speed control lets operators match RPM to the material — higher for aluminum and soft metals, slower for hardened steel and precision work.
DeWalt’s ANTI-ROTATION System is built in. If the tool binds suddenly, it shuts down before the torque reaction can yank it out of control. That’s a meaningful safety feature for a high-speed rotary tool in a tight bore.
