Bosch has unveiled its first-ever 18V cordless air compressor — the GKO17V-51 — and if you’re already running Bosch 18V tools on your job site or in your shop, this is a category gap that’s finally being filled.
The announcement surfaced April 30 via ToolGuyd, which got a first look at the unit. Here’s what we know.

The Feature That Stands Out
The GKO17V-51 includes an adjustable pressure selection switch — a first for Bosch’s professional lineup. You dial in your target pressure before the pump runs, and the compressor stops filling the tank when it hits that preset. For tire inflation (30 PSI), finish nailers (90 PSI), or blowing off a workbench, you’re not constantly checking a gauge and toggling a valve. It just stops where you set it.
At 1.8 CFM output (at 87 PSI), this compressor is squarely in finish work and inflation territory — brad nailers, pin nailers, tire inflation, dust blowing. If you’re planning to run a continuous-cycle framing nailer, you’ll need more CFM. That’s not a knock on this tool; it’s the reality of any 18V-class compressor.
How It Fits Bosch’s 18V Lineup
Bosch has been aggressively expanding the 18V ecosystem in 2026. The brand recently launched five cordless outdoor power tools and announced the EXPERT 18V tabless batteries that squeeze more power and cooler operation out of the same platform. Adding a cordless compressor means a Bosch 18V user can now run nailers, grinders, sanders, and outdoor equipment — all from one battery system.
Milwaukee’s M18 FUEL cordless compressor and DeWalt’s 20V MAX compressor have been the go-to options for cordless inflation and light nailer work for years. The GKO17V-51 gives Bosch 18V users a same-platform alternative without crossing into a different battery ecosystem.
US Availability: TBD
Bosch has not announced US pricing or a North American availability date. The GKO17V-51 first appeared on European listings. When it does land stateside, expect it at Lowe’s or Amazon — Bosch’s primary US retailers. We’ll update this post when Bosch confirms a US launch.
