Milwaukee Tool used its official Facebook page this week to warn buyers about deeply discounted Milwaukee-branded products showing up in Amazon’s Prime Day 2026 event. The brand told customers that any Prime Day deal on a Milwaukee product is being run by a third-party seller, not Milwaukee itself, and that those deals often trace back to liquidation, salvage, or counterfeit channels.

Warranty claims on tools bought through unauthorized channels will be voided, according to the company. Shoppers were directed to milwaukeetool.com and Milwaukee’s authorized dealer network instead.

What the post said

Posted around June 25, 2026, the Facebook notice was direct. Milwaukee pointed out that Amazon is not an authorized dealer of Milwaukee products, that Prime Day listings on Milwaukee-branded tools come from third-party marketplace sellers, and that warranty service on those tools will not be honored. Milwaukee framed the warning as a buyer-protection message, not a promotional one.

Forbes picked up the story the same day, noting how unusual it is for a major power tool brand to publicly call out Amazon Prime Day pricing as unauthorized. Forbes placed the warning in a wider pattern of brands pushing back on marketplace sellers who discount below MAP.

Why this matters for buyers

Milwaukee’s distribution has been Home Depot exclusive in the U.S. for years. Any Milwaukee tool you see on Amazon, on Prime Day or any other day, is being sold by a third party who sourced the product somewhere. Sometimes that source is a contractor offloading new-old stock. Sometimes it is a refurbisher repackaging a return. Once in a while it is a counterfeit built to look like the real thing.

Shoppers should ask a few practical questions before clicking buy. A deal that looks too good to be true usually is. A Milwaukee M18 FUEL drill sold for $89 on Prime Day is not a Milwaukee authorized sale. If the tool turns out to be defective, stolen, or counterfeit, Milwaukee’s five-year warranty does not apply, and Home Depot will not process the return either.

Bottom line: Home Depot is the only authorized U.S. retail channel for Milwaukee. Buyers who want a Milwaukee tool with a real warranty should buy it at Home Depot, online or in store, and pay the normal price. Anyone willing to roll the dice on a marketplace seller should understand what they are buying and what protections they are giving up.
