Milwaukee M18 FUEL Gets Its First True Demo Hammer in June

Milwaukee’s M18 FUEL lineup is adding a category it’s never covered before: a dedicated demolition hammer. The M18 FUEL 18-lb SDS Max Demolition Hammer (model 3018-22HD) ships in June 2026, and it’s different in an important way from the rotary hammers already in the M18 stable.

This tool doesn’t drill. It only chips. That’s by design — a pure demo hammer delivers focused impact energy for breaking tile, removing mortar, chipping concrete, and busting up floors without the rotary mechanism a hammer drill carries. The 3018 is Milwaukee’s answer to a gap: M18 users who need serious demolition power currently have to either rent equipment or jump to the much heavier MX FUEL platform.

How It Fits the Lineup

The existing M18 FUEL SDS Max rotary hammers top out at 1-9/16″ and 1-3/4″ chuck sizes and can do light chipping, but they’re built primarily around drilling. The 3018 sits above them for demolition work — and well below the 27-lb MX FUEL in terms of weight and cost. At 18 lbs it’s manageable for overhead work, something the MX FUEL platform wasn’t designed for.

Milwaukee claims 11.4 ft-lbs of impact energy, which it describes as best-in-class for the 18-lb weight category. VacLink automatically starts a compatible dust extractor when you pull the trigger. ONE-KEY adds the same tool tracking and reporting found across the M18 FUEL line.

When and Where

The 3018-22HD kit includes the tool and batteries. Pricing hasn’t been announced — check milwaukeetool.com for final specs and retail pricing as the June launch approaches. Milwaukee products go through Home Depot for US retail.

For M18 users doing renovation, tile removal, or controlled concrete chipping, this fills a real hole. For heavier-duty continuous demolition, the MX FUEL 27-lb is still the right call.
