Milwaukee’s newest and most protection-loaded M18 angle grinder ships May 1–8, 2026. The M18 FUEL 4-1/2″ / 6″ Dual Trigger Braking Grinder with Paddle Switch (model 3676-20) is the first cordless grinder in Milwaukee’s lineup to require simultaneous activation of two separate triggers before the wheel will spin — a safety architecture common in pneumatic grinders used by fabricators and ironworkers.
Why Two Triggers?
Drop a standard angle grinder and the paddle can re-contact your leg or boot — especially with a cutting disc at 9,000 RPM. The 3676-20 requires you to hold the front trigger and the paddle switch at the same time. Release either one and the wheel immediately begins braking. Milwaukee’s RAPIDSTOP system brings most accessories to a full stop in under two seconds. AUTOSTOP independently monitors for sudden angular motion — characteristic of a kickback event — and cuts power before the tool can rotate against you.
This isn’t the first Milwaukee grinder with kickback sensing. What’s new is the dual-trigger requirement, which eliminates accidental activation at the source rather than just reacting after the fact.

Price and Where to Buy
The 3676-20 bare tool is priced at $449 at Home Depot, the exclusive launch retailer. Ships May 1–8, 2026.
For comparison, Milwaukee’s current 3670-20 (4-1/2″/6″ braking grinder without dual trigger or ONE-KEY) runs $349–$379. The 3676-20 premium buys the dual-trigger mechanism, ONE-KEY connectivity, and the latest AUTOSTOP generation. If you’re a metalworker who uses a grinder daily, that $70–$100 gap is easy to justify. If you grind occasionally, the 3670-20 is still a capable tool at a lower price.
Who Should Look At This
Welders, pipe fitters, fabricators, and ironworkers — anyone who grinds or cuts metal for hours at a time. The dual trigger is a feature, not a limitation: it enforces a two-hand grip every time the tool is running, which is exactly how it should be used anyway.
Light DIY users cutting the occasional bolt or grinding a weld bead once a month don’t need this level of protection hardware. Stick with the 3670-20 and spend the difference on better abrasives.
Speaking of abrasives: the 3676-20 is fully compatible with Milwaukee’s new 100+ SKU Ceramic+ and Performance+ wheel lineup, which launched April 20.
