Milwaukee Launches Its First Pliers Wrenches: Parallel Jaws, 5 Sizes, Starting at 3

Milwaukee Tool has entered the pliers wrench category for the first time, launching a five-model lineup with parallel smooth jaws designed to compete directly with the Knipex tools that have dominated this space for decades. Three sizes are available now, with two more rolling out later in 2026.

Pliers wrenches sit between an adjustable wrench and slip-joint pliers — they open wider, adjust quickly, and grip with parallel jaws that don’t damage the corners of nuts, fittings, or chrome plating. For electricians, plumbers, and HVAC techs, they’re a go-to tool for exactly this reason.

The New Milwaukee Lineup

Model Size Price Availability
48-22-6905 5" $33 February 2026
48-22-6906 5" with belt/pocket clip $35 February 2026
48-22-6910 10" $43 February 2026
48-22-6907 7" $37 August 2026
48-22-6912 12" $60 July 2026

A 7″ and 10″ two-piece set (48-22-6930, $70) follows in September 2026. All models carry Milwaukee’s limited lifetime warranty. The tools are manufactured in South Korea.

How They Work

Milwaukee’s pliers wrenches use a parallel jaw design: when you squeeze the handles, both jaws stay flat and parallel rather than angling like traditional pliers. This spreads clamping force evenly across the flat of a nut or fitting instead of digging into the corners — which is exactly how you avoid rounding fasteners on chrome or soft materials.

The self-tightening mechanism means the harder you pull on the top handle, the more grip force the jaws apply. Quick-ID size markings (SAE and metric) are stamped into the jaws on the 5″ model, and the 5″ with pocket clip adds a belt/pocket clip for keeping the tool accessible without digging through a bag.

How This Stacks Up Against Knipex

Knipex has owned the pliers wrench market for years. Their 7″ model sells for around $45–$50 at most retailers, and pros who’ve used them swear by the build quality. Milwaukee’s pricing is close enough that loyalty may well win the day for existing Knipex users.

Where Milwaukee has an edge: brand familiarity for tradespeople already invested in the Milwaukee ecosystem, and the immediate availability of the 5″ and 10″ sizes, which Knipex’s lineup handles less directly. Early hands-on testing has been positive with “nothing to complain about,” per ToolGuyd’s initial assessment.

The 5″ size is particularly notable — a compact pliers wrench this size is genuinely useful in tight electrical boxes and confined spaces where a larger tool won’t fit.

Where to Buy

Milwaukee tools are sold exclusively through Home Depot and authorized industrial distributors. The 5″ (48-22-6905), 5″ with pocket clip (48-22-6906), and 10″ (48-22-6910) models are available now at Home Depot stores and online. Check manufacturer specs for full capacity ranges.
