Metabo HPT just dropped the third generation of its 36V MultiVolt 7-1/4-inch cordless circular saw, and the big news is a feature the brand calls Torque Boost. The new model, the C3607DB, lets you switch on the fly from 6,000 RPM standard mode to 4,300 RPM high-torque mode for ripping through thick lumber, wet framing material, and dense engineered wood without bogging the motor down. Pro Tool Reviews put it through its paces and gave it a 9.6/10, calling it a “true value leader” against competitors that cost two or three times as much.

The upgrade isn’t just a software tweak. Metabo HPT claims 25% faster cutting and 40% more torque than the previous generation (the C3607DA, which we reviewed back in March). In Pro Tool Reviews’ testing, the saw ripped through 2x stock with the kind of confidence you’d expect from a corded worm drive, with no RPM drop when the load got heavy. That’s a real-world win for framers, deck builders, and anyone cutting wet PT lumber on a job site.

How the C3607DB Stacks Up Against Milwaukee and Makita

The price is the headline. The C3607DB bare tool lists at $209, and the kit with a 4.0Ah MultiVolt battery and charger is $379. Compare that to the Milwaukee M18 FUEL 7-1/4″ rear-handle saw (around $499 bare) and the Makita 40V max XGT rear-handle 7-1/4″ (around $609 for the kit). For a working pro or serious DIYer already on the MultiVolt platform, the value math is hard to argue with.

There are a few things you give up at this price. There’s no dust port nozzle included, even though the saw has a threaded mount point, so plan on buying one separately or living with the dust. The brushless motor is solid but the brand is still working to build mindshare against Milwaukee and Makita in the U.S. cordless market. If you’re already in the M18 or LXT/XGT ecosystem, switching platforms costs more than you save on the saw itself.

When and Where You Can Get One

Pro Tool Reviews posted the full review on June 26, 2026, and the saw is rolling out to authorized Metabo HPT dealers now. Metabo HPT sells primarily through independent tool dealers and its own website, with limited Home Depot and Lowe’s shelf space. Amazon typically stocks the C3607DB within a few weeks of release. Pricing and stock vary by retailer, so check the Metabo HPT dealer locator for the most accurate local availability. The lifetime warranty applies regardless of where you buy it.

We also reviewed the previous-gen C3607DA if you want to see exactly what changed. And for context on the high end of the rear-handle category, the new Milwaukee M18 FUEL 10-1/4″ rear-handle saw is the saw to beat for cutting 4x lumber cordless.
