Makita has released two new multi-bay charging cases for its 40V max XGT platform — the BCC01 (8-port) and the larger BCC02 (12-port) — purpose-built for contractors and crews that run multiple XGT tools simultaneously and can’t afford to wait on single-port chargers.
Two Cases, Two Capacities
The BCC01 holds up to 8 XGT batteries and charges 4 simultaneously, cycling through the remaining ports automatically. Its standout feature: it accepts 18V LXT batteries via the Makita ADP10 adapter (sold separately), making it useful for crews running a mixed fleet of XGT and LXT tools on the same job site.
The BCC02 scales up to 12 XGT ports, again charging 4 at a time in rotating groups. It is XGT-only — no LXT adapter support — aimed at commercial operations that have fully committed to the 40V max platform and need to keep a large battery bank charged overnight or between shifts.
Key specs across both:
- Portable case format — load, plug in, and leave it running
- Compatible with all XGT battery sizes (2.5Ah through 8.0Ah)
- Automatic port cycling — no manual rotation required
- BCC01 supports 18V LXT via ADP10 adapter (one adapter per port, sold separately)
- BCC02 is XGT-only, prioritizes maximum capacity
Why This Matters on the Jobsite
A single DC40RA rapid charger handles one XGT battery at a time — roughly 45 minutes per battery. For a crew of three running XGT drills, impact drivers, and saws, that means constant battery juggling. The BCC01 solves that by treating charging like a batch process: load all eight, plug it in at lunch, and you’re back to full capacity before the afternoon push.
The LXT compatibility on the BCC01 is the smarter practical choice for most shops right now. Makita’s LXT 18V lineup is still extensive, and many crews have years of investment in it. Being able to use one charging case across both platforms removes a major friction point during the XGT transition.

Bigger Picture: XGT Is Getting Serious
This is not just an accessory launch. Makita’s XGT platform expanded significantly in early 2026 — framing nailers, a 20-inch chainsaw, the GPH03 hammer drill — and the $6.4B acquisition of Panasonic’s power tool business signals that Makita is positioning XGT as a long-term commercial platform. Multi-bay charging infrastructure is exactly what separates a growing platform from a professional one.

Pricing and Availability
U.S. MSRP has not been confirmed by Makita North America. European listings show the BCC01 around €665. The BCC01 is expected at authorized U.S. Makita dealers in 2026; the BCC02 is slated for mid-2026. Check your local Makita dealer or the Makita website for current availability.
Bottom line: For commercial crews with 8 or more XGT tools in rotation, this kind of charging infrastructure pays for itself in reduced downtime fast. For single-tool DIYers, the standard DC40RA rapid charger is still the right call.
