DeWalt has expanded its ATOMIC 20V MAX cordless ratchet lineup with two new extended-reach models built for mechanics working in tight spaces. The DCF513EB (3/8-inch drive) and DCF512EB (1/2-inch drive) are available now from major retailers, adding three inches of neck length over the existing compact ratchets on the same platform.
What’s Different About These
DeWalt already makes compact ATOMIC ratchets (DCF513B and DCF512B) and launched the high-torque Multi-Drive XR ratchet earlier in 2026. These extended-reach models serve a different need: getting the ratchet head into places where standard-length tools won’t reach without an adapter or extension rod. The longer neck means fewer improvised setups under a hood or inside a tight equipment panel.
Both models measure 18 inches total length, compared to 15 inches on the standard compact versions. The neck extension accounts for 7.75 inches of that. The 1.5-inch head width stays the same — narrow enough to actually fit where the fasteners are.

Who These Are For
Automotive techs are the obvious market — reaching deep into engine bays without extensions, accessing transmission bolts, pulling fasteners behind subframes. But they’re equally useful for HVAC and appliance work where mechanical access is constrained. The chemical-resistant nylon housing is a deliberate choice: shop environments eat through tool plastics, and glass-filled nylon handles exposure to common automotive fluids significantly better than standard ABS.
The trigger lock is a practical addition as well. Manual ratcheting with the motor locked out is quieter and more precise for sensitive torque work where running the motor would overshoot.

Both extended-reach ratchets are available now as bare tools at around $239 each. They work with any 20V MAX battery DeWalt makes, including compact 1.3Ah packs that keep total weight down.
