Vessel’s 36-piece precision screwdriver set is sitting at $34.99 on Amazon, and it is a rare case of a Japanese brand’s pro-grade hand tools landing in the US at a budget price. One 4mm bit driver handle, 36 bits, an aluminum body with a rotating palm cap, and a folding case that turns into a stand. We checked the listing today: in stock, 4.6 stars, sold by Amazon.
Vessel is not a household name here, but ask anyone who works on Japanese assembly lines or watches professional screwdriver reviews. The company has been making driver bits and screwdrivers since 1894, and its bits are the OEM pick in a lot of factory tool cribs. Most Vessel products in the US are imports with import pricing. This set is different.

How It Stacks Up
The obvious comparison is the iFixit Mako 54-piece kit at $40, which most people treat as the default precision-driver buy. The Vessel gives up piece count but the bits are higher quality, the magnetic chuck holds bits more securely than a friction-fit hex, and the stand-up case is genuinely more convenient on a bench. Commenters who imported the same set from Japan reported paying around $19, so the US listing carries a premium, but it beats paying shipping and waiting a month.
Against other named-brand sets it is cheaper than Wera’s Kraftform Micro line and much cheaper than a full Wiha set, though those carry lifetime warranties this one does not advertise. Vessel bits have a strong reputation for cam-out resistance, which matters most on old Phillips screws in electronics.
Who Should Buy It

It also makes a strong gift for the person who fixes everything small.
