EGO finally has an answer for the pile of leaves at the edge of the yard. The POWER+ LV5000 Leaf Vacuum and Mulcher is a 3-in-1 machine that blows, vacuums, and mulches with tool-free tube swaps, and it runs on the same 56V ARC Lithium batteries as every other EGO tool. Ohio Power Tool already has the bare tool in stock at $269.99, and the LV5005 kit with a 6.0Ah battery and 320W charger is listed at $409 on Amazon.

This is the first EGO walk-behind-style leaf vacuum in the US lineup, and the timing is not subtle. Fall cleanup season starts now, and until this week the EGO 56V platform had blowers but nothing that picked the leaves back up afterward.

What We Know So Far

  • Models: LV5000 (bare tool), LV5005 (kit with 6.0Ah battery and 320W charger)
  • 3-in-1: blower, vacuum, and mulcher; tool-free tube swaps between modes
  • Blower output: up to 500 CFM and 210 MPH with the tapered nozzle attached
  • Mulching: six-blade metal impeller with a 16:1 mulching ratio
  • Runtime: up to 90 minutes on low, about 15 minutes on high, with the 6.0Ah pack
  • Collection bag: 40L heavy-duty bag with dual-zipper opening and tool-free install
  • Build: IPX5 weather-resistant, variable-speed rotary dial, metal-tipped vacuum tube opening, shoulder strap and auxiliary handle included
  • Warranty: 5-year tool, 3-year battery

How It Fits the EGO Lineup

A 500 CFM blower output puts this in mid-range blower territory. EGO’s dedicated backpack and handheld blowers push more air, so nobody is buying the LV5000 to replace a dedicated cordless leaf blower for big properties. One machine does the whole cleanup: blow the leaves into piles, swap the tube, vacuum and mulch them into the bag.

That 16:1 mulching ratio is the number that matters for anyone with curbside yard-waste limits. Sixteen bags of loose leaves reduced to one changes how many trips to the curb November requires. Pricing and Availability

Ohio Power Tool lists the LV5000 bare tool at $269.99, down from $299.99. The kit, LV5005, is $409 on Amazon with the 6.0Ah battery and 320W charger included. EGO’s own site still shows both configurations as coming soon, so treat the kit date as fluid until EGO updates its listing. If you already own 56V EGO batteries, the bare tool at $269.99 is the obvious buy; the kit only makes sense if you are starting from zero or want a spare pack.

What This Means for Buyers

Battery leaf vacuums have historically been the weak spot of cordless yard platforms: low suction, small bags, and impellers that clog on wet leaves. EGO is entering late with a metal six-blade impeller, a metal-tipped tube, and a 40L bag, which is the spec sheet you would write after reading the complaints about everyone else’s vac. Whether it handles soaked maple leaves is a question only reviews will answer, but the hardware choices are the right ones.

For garage and jobsite cleanup rather than yard work, EGO’s smaller WDV0300 wet/dry vacuum stays the pick. This one is strictly a yard machine.
