Milwaukee Announces M12 FUEL Extended Reach Ratchets — Three Drive Sizes Coming Q3 2026

Milwaukee is expanding its M12 FUEL cordless ratchet lineup with three extended reach models — 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ drive — all targeted for a Q3 2026 launch. The new tools address the most common limitation of compact cordless ratchets: insufficient neck length to reach deeply recessed fasteners.

Three New Models

  • 3058-20 — M12 FUEL 1/4″ Extended Reach Ratchet (tool only)
  • 3059-20 — M12 FUEL 3/8″ Extended Reach Ratchet (tool only)
  • 3059-21 — M12 FUEL 3/8″ Extended Reach Ratchet Kit (with battery)
  • 3055-20 — M12 FUEL 1/2″ Extended Reach Ratchet (tool only)

What the Extended Reach Changes

The extended reach design adds neck length between the head and the motor body — using the same compact, low-profile ratchet head geometry Milwaukee established on the current M12 FUEL ratchet (3052/3053/3054 series) — to access fasteners in wheel wells, recessed HVAC panel screws, deep equipment cavities, and cramped under-hood locations where a standard-length ratchet can’t swing.

Key specs on the new models:

  • POWERSTATE brushless motor — same torque output as the standard M12 FUEL ratchets (70 ft-lbs max for the 3/8″ drive, 80 ft-lbs for the 1/2″)
  • Modular trigger cap on the 3059-20 for customizable trigger configurations — not available on current models
  • Compatible with all M12 REDLITHIUM batteries
  • No retail pricing announced yet; current M12 FUEL ratchets (tool only) are priced from $149 to $199 at Home Depot

Context: The Cordless Ratchet Race in 2026

Milwaukee essentially created the compact cordless ratchet category, and the current generation (3052/3053/3054) remains the benchmark — small enough to slip into tight spaces, fast enough to run fasteners without thinking, and with better head clearance than anything else in the M12 class.

DeWalt moved hard into the segment in early 2026, launching three 20V MAX cordless ratchets in 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ drive sizes. Milwaukee’s extended reach variants are the next escalation — deeper access without stepping up to a heavier M18 tool.

The Q3 2026 launch means these aren’t available yet. If you need a cordless ratchet now, the current M12 FUEL models are still the best in class.
