Bosch Is Building a Portable Sliding Table Saw — and It Might Be an Industry First

Bosch has revealed a new Expert-series portable table saw that includes a built-in sliding table — a feature that has been exclusive to large, stationary shop machines until now. The tool, model EXTH100-254X, was shown to media and content creators ahead of any formal press release, which typically means a launch announcement is close.

Why a Sliding Table Matters

Most portable table saws use a miter gauge or an auxiliary fence to guide crosscuts on wide or long boards. Both are workable but slow, and neither holds square as reliably as a dedicated sliding carriage. A sliding table moves parallel to the blade on a precision track, letting the material ride on a stable platform rather than being pushed by hand. Cabinet shops and professional finish carpenters rely on them for exactly this reason.

The problem has always been size. Full-size sliding table saws are stationary machines that weigh several hundred pounds. They do not leave the shop. What Bosch appears to be building is a contractor-scale portable version with the sliding table integrated — a combination that does not currently exist from any major North American tool brand.

What Is Known So Far

The EXTH100-254X uses a 10-inch blade (254mm = 10 inches). The model falls under Bosch’s Expert branding — the same label used on the brand’s new high-output 18V battery platform launched in early 2026 with tabless cells in 4Ah, 6Ah, 8Ah, and 15Ah capacities. Expert is being applied to both corded and cordless tools, so the designation alone does not confirm whether this saw has a battery-powered version in the works.

At least one credible source covering the tool suggests a cordless variant is planned. If that materializes with the 15Ah Expert battery pack behind it, the saw would represent a significant step forward in portable woodworking. For now, the EXTH100 designation and images confirm a corded version first.

The table and fence surfaces appear to use a dark matte coating rather than bare aluminum — a detail that points toward a premium positioning and may improve grip on rough or wet stock.

No US Pricing or Release Date Yet

Bosch has not issued official US pricing, availability dates, or a full specification sheet. Whether the EXTH100 lands domestically at the same time as European markets — or lags behind — is not yet confirmed.
