DeWalt Is Expanding Its 20V MAX Sander Lineup: New 5-Inch DCW211 and 6-Inch DCW230 Spotted at JLC LIVE

DeWalt appears to be adding two new random orbital sanders to its 20V MAX lineup. The DCW211 (5-inch) and DCW230 (6-inch) were spotted by attendees at the JLC LIVE trade show, with pricing reportedly at $199 and $229 respectively. DeWalt has not yet issued a press release, but both tools were seen in person and handled at the show.

Two Sizes, Different Speed Ranges

The DCW211 is a 5-inch model with a speed range of 8,000 to 12,000 OPM — a familiar range for finish sanding on wood and painted surfaces. The DCW230 steps up to a 6-inch pad running at 6,000 to 10,000 OPM. The lower OPM ceiling on the bigger model is intentional: a 6-inch pad moves more material per rotation, so it needs a bit less speed to do the same work without loading up.

A 6-inch cordless random orbital is not a common option in the consumer market. More surface area per pass means fewer passes on large panels, cabinet doors, tabletops, and flooring jobs. For finish carpenters and furniture builders already running 20V MAX batteries, the DCW230 could be a genuine time-saver on prep work.

Both tools appear to use improved ergonomics compared to DeWalt’s current DCW210, though no full spec sheets were shared at the show.

How This Fits DeWalt’s Sanding Lineup

DeWalt’s current cordless sander is the DCW210 — a 5-inch variable-speed random orbital that has been in the lineup for several years. It performs well but has not seen significant updates since launch. Users have consistently asked for a 6-inch option and a refresh on the grip design. If these two new models are the answer, they arrive at a modest pricing premium over the DCW210’s typical $129–$149 street price.

Both new models appear to share the standard 20V MAX battery platform. Existing DeWalt users would not need to buy into a new system. No official ASIN or Home Depot listing has appeared as of publication.

What to Watch For

DeWalt acknowledged the tools were present at JLC LIVE but had not responded to press requests for full specs, availability date, or confirmed pricing as of writing. Given the brand’s rollout pace in 2026 — multiple tool launches per month — an official announcement is likely within weeks.
