The timing is hard to miss. A week after Milwaukee launched its next-generation M12 FUEL ratchets, DeWalt announced three new cordless ratchets across its 20V MAX lineup — landing in March 2026.
The new lineup spans two product families:
20V MAX XR Brushless Sealed Head Ratchet (DCF520B)
The flagship of the three, this XR-class ratchet delivers 450 RPM no-load speed and 50 ft-lbs of max torque — DeWalt’s highest-speed 20V MAX ratchet yet. The sealed head design protects against debris and contaminants, critical for automotive shops and equipment maintenance. An interchangeable anvil system swaps between three configurations: 3/8-inch square drive, 1/4-inch square drive, and 1/4-inch low-profile hex. Pricing not yet announced. Available March 2026.
ATOMIC 20V MAX Brushless 1/4-Inch Ratchet (DCF514B)
The compact entry runs to 250 RPM and 45 ft-lbs of torque. Variable speed trigger, forward/reverse switch, and a trigger lock for sustained use. The glass-filled nylon housing resists harsh chemicals and solvents — useful for anyone working under vehicles or in industrial maintenance. Available March 2026.
ATOMIC 20V MAX Extended Reach 1/4-Inch Ratchet (DCF514EB)
Same performance specs as the DCF514B, but with a long-neck design and low-profile head for reaching into tight spaces where a standard ratchet head won’t fit. Available March 2026.
Pricing for all three models has not been disclosed.
Who These Are For
These ratchets target automotive technicians, heavy equipment mechanics, and industrial maintenance workers who want to cut out air compressors. The XR model, with its sealed head and interchangeable anvil system, positions as a premium option for pros currently running pneumatic ratchets. How It Stacks Up Against Milwaukee
Last week, Milwaukee launched three new M12 FUEL ratchets priced at $229 bare tool each. Those M12 units max out at 70 ft-lbs for the 3/8-inch model at 400 RPM. DeWalt’s XR DCF520B claims 450 RPM but 50 ft-lbs in a combo 1/4″+3/8″ format — faster but with less peak torque in any single drive size. Different tools for somewhat different use cases. The ATOMIC models at 45 ft-lbs compete more directly with the lower end of Milwaukee’s lineup.
Pricing hasn’t been announced for any of the three models, and that comparison will matter. Milwaukee’s new ratchets landed at $229.
